Originally there were three of us behind breathinglighter. But life sometimes intervenes with the best of plans, and now there’s just me…Debra. I have reached a time in my life when I can easily pursue what interests me the most, and as an eclectic soul, I’m never at a loss for things to do. I love to read and garden, enjoy time with my family, in particular two beautiful granddaughters, and explore Southern California. I’m a native Californian with a passion for history, and I spend as much time as possible learning more about the story of the region.
Keeping an active mind and following my curiosity is what also reduces stress and assures that I’m breathing lighter! I hope you’ll feel welcome to come along at any time. I enjoy sharing.

Congratulations! I’ve nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award. For the rules andmy 11 questions, please visit the post http://nittygrittydirtman.wordpress.com/2013/01/03/and-the-liebst…-award-goes-to/

Hi Debra. I like what you said about being an eclectic soul. I feel the same way. Someone once told me that we that feel that because it’s less hard science. Some folks bend towards more hard science. Everyone on earth can tap into that side of them – it exists in all of us – but must be developed much like a muscle. I thought that was a great way to look at life. So, now, when someone says something like “Well, I’m just not creative” or “I just don’t have that creative side to me” – I tell them it’s scientifically proven that they do! It’s up to them if they want to develop it. For some, I Agree, it does come more naturally. I think that’s the more interesting question…why do some people embrace it more easily than others?
You made a very interesting point with the question, “why do some people embrace it [creativity] more easily than others?” Really good question…and I don’t know! LOL! If I depended on defining creativity as personal artistic expression, I’d come up lacking!
But I’m creative in following the trail of little day-trips, museums, libraries and gardens, checking into areas of interest, and I think that nourishes my soul, which may answer best about creativity! I like people with eclectic interests, so I think you and I would do very well spending time together!
I think so, too!
Debra. I mention this past post because I know it’s one you will appreciate … besides, there is a hint of a reference to 2 of LA’s finest. http://afrankangle.wordpress.com/2013/04/10/on-a-nonruling-farro/
